Canada intends to make it easier for foreign-trained carers to enter the country.

Salma Zahid and Rechie Valdez, members of parliament, made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship. This move aims to make it easier for carers and their families to apply for permanent residency while also reducing the amount of work experience needed.

This should be a key consideration in ensuring that professional care needs are accessible to all Canadians because they have been so crucial in assisting Canadian families. However, some of the obstacles keeping them back include the paperwork and registration procedures.

The modification will take effect on April 30, 2023.
